When it comes to interior design styles, almost everything is based on traditional interior design ideas, and with good reason. You can still create the traditional look unique by choosing pieces which reflect your individuality and style.

Paint or add wall panelling to add some dimension to a blank wall – if you have a wall on which you’re just trying to add another piece of artwork or mirror won’t work (because you’ve already done it), then a painted wall or panelling can provide texture and dimension to the space. Wallpaper would do the trick too.

The most important thing to do in a successful pattern clash is having the same colour denominator in both patterns. If you’ve got both a plaid and floral pillow, for instance it is important to ensure they’re the same color or similar colours for them to work.

Paint samples are an excellent way to determine the way colours change as light changes. Paint at the very least A2 size paint patches on the lightest and the darkest walls of the same space – to test how the lighting affects the shades. It’s especially useful in selecting the appropriate white paint because it changes with light.

Doesn’t this all sound a little serious? It’s not. The art of styling can be both enjoyable and also methodical at the same simultaneously. A lot of the time it’s about switching and arranging and rearranging until you get the final look you’re happy with.

Here is my trick to do it correctly: paint a wall only 3 quarters or half height from top to bottom. Ceilings will appear higher and the room will appear bigger. You will save money on paint, too! This strategy lets you test out richer and more dark colors, and then use lighter shades on the ceiling. This will make the room feel light and airy. Check out the bedroom I designed, I utilized a dark green in the lower part to give the room an intimate and cozy feel. With my half-height painting method, the green appears rich but still makes the space feel large and airy. Check out the Before and After Reel to see the full impact of this.

You’ve decorated your little heart out, but you aren’t quite finished? Finding the final piece to the puzzle can be painful and exhausting (if you’re the kind of person who wants everything to be perfect!). I’m always re-designing rooms and finding myself lost in the process of how to finish them up perfectly. It usually only takes one simple thing. Today I’ll share a few suggestions on how to finish the room that is not finished.

Once cleaned and dried, it’s the most enjoyable part: picking new throw pillows! They are inexpensive and should be changed often to keep your sofa looking new. Pick a new throw with new pillows. The throw blanket should be folded into a neat rectangle and drape it over an arm for a multi-layered, stylish style. Throws and cushions can be a simple option to add color, patterns, or texture to your couch or armchair. You can find them in all home goods shops. I like to change mine seasonally; it helps keep my home feeling contemporary and fresh.

Think of rustic elements from the country that have been modernized by an industrial, Scandinavian, and minimal design for spaces that are distinctive, taking maximum advantage of the architectural flaws.

Boo! People are increasingly moving towards organic minimalism and prefer a wood-paneled look to achieve the upscale appearance. Recently, I was working with an individual client who was renting and couldn’t do painting. Even the possibility of wood paneling, the expense was beyond her budget. However, I discovered an innovative way to cheat! I discovered a peel-and-stick wallpaper with wood paneling printed in its pattern. I hung it behind my client’s bed, and the change was dramatic. Instantly, it brought warmth and texture to the space. The vertical lines made the ceiling appear to be twice as high. Click here for my IG Reel. Peel-and-stick wallpaper is easy to install; it took around three hours and cost around hundred dollars. The greatest part is, when you have to move out or maybe you want to change your style just take the wallpaper off the walls. It is important to test your walls regularly, and to carefully adhere to the guidelines of the manufacturer.

The style of eclectic is a combination of bohemian and contemporary decor, but with an adult style. It’s all about exciting, eye-catching furniture. Think of bold colors and textures paired with patterns and patterns that create an eclectic blend that is practical and attractive.

Different sizes of throw cushions – don’t buy all rectangles, or all square. Mix them on your sofa. Also, add a round one. If you are stuck on what to place your cushions take a look at shapes. It will all come together I swear.

Consider adding dazzling white woodwork in your home’s interior design regardless of the hue you choose. This home interior design offers a sweet contrast against brightly colored walls and dark wooden floors. It also provides a traditional style to your interior and makes your appearance fresh and stylish.
